DISTRICT EVENTS

  • June 3- Cub Scout Summer Fun Day – Baden Powell Park in San Angelo- 9am-3pm
    • Theme is Cubstruction
    • Cub will get a chance to shoot BB Guns, Bows and Arrows, and do other activities related to the construction theme. This is a chance for them to have fun and earn rank requirements.
  • June 12-17- National Youth Leadership Training- Camp Sol Mayer
    • Boy Scouts will participate in the ultimate leadership training. This Training is run by Youth for Youth. This training provides Scouts with the Skills they need to be leaders in their units, communities, and other activities. FMI visit http://nylt.tswcbsa.org/
  • August 4-6– Taste of Adventure- Camp Fawcett in Barksdale, TX- all weekend
    • Boy Scouts will have the opportunity to camp with their troop at Camp Fawcett and participate in various activities that include shooting sports, water activities, and orienteering. This is a fun weekend full of high adventure
  • August 26- Show and Sell begins
  • August 28- Cub Scout recruitment begins
  • September 23- Show and Sell ends and Take Order Begins
  • October 6-8- Fall Cub Camp- Camp Sol Mayer in Fort McKavett, TX
    • Cub Scouts and their families will get the chance to go camping at Camp Sol Mayer. On Saturday, there will be various activities for Scouts, their siblings, and their parents to participate in. These activities will include shooting sports, games, crafts, meals in the dining hall,  campfire, and opening and closing flag ceremonies. This may be the first time many of these families go camping.
  • October 13-15- Webelos Woods- Baden Powell Park in San Angelo
    • Webelos and their Den Leaders will camp out with various Boy Scout troops to learn about what its like to be a Boy Scout and possibly find the troop they will transition to when they complete the Cub Scout program. Boy Scouts will be teaching the cubs skills that are fun but also helpful. Skills could include canoeing, knot tying, cooking, gadget building, camp fire building, etc.
  • October 27-29- Taste of Adventure- Camp Sol Mayer in Fort McKavett, TX
    • Boy Scouts will have the opportunity to camp with their troop at Sol Mayer and participate in various activities that include Climbing and Repelling, shooting sports, water activities, and orienteering. This is a fun weekend full of high adventure.
  • October 29- Take Order Ends
  • November 3-5- Boy Scout Camporee
    • Various Boy Scout troops will come together and compete as patrols in various activities that tests their Scouting skills. Skills could include knot tying, gadget building, first aide, canoeing, orienteering, cooking, campfire building, and much more.
  • November 11- Veteran’s Day Parade- Down town San Angelo
    • Every year all the Scouting units in San Angelo come together to honor Veteran’s by marching in the Veteran’s Day Parade. This also happens in many of the other surrounding communities.
  • November 10-12Popcorn Delivery/ Pick-up
    • Mountains of Popcorn are Delivered to the Concho Valley Food Bank for Units and volunteers to sort and pick-up so that the popcorn can be delivered by the Scouts to the people they sold it to during Take-Order Season.
  • December 27-29- Winter Camp- Camp Sol May
    • Boy Scouts will come from all over the Council and surrounding areas to earn Merit Badges, camp, and learn new Scouting Skills.
