The Texas Southwest Council serves 2,300 young people in 23 1/2 counties across southwest Texas. The council stretches as far west as Ft. Stockton, north to Robert Lee, South to Carrizo Springs, and east to Brady. The council service center is located in San Angelo, Texas at 104 Veterans Memorial Drive.
More than 58% of the youth served by the Texas Southwest Council live at or below poverty guidelines and 60% are minority. More than 1,200 adults volunteer their time to deliver Scouting programs such as camporees and summer camp, and accompany them to leadership programs such as Philmont Scout Ranch, National Jamborees, and National Youth Leadership Training.
In 2013, we had 25 young men earn the rank of Eagle Scout and many hours of service were provided to the communities throughout our council from the work of our Scouts. Texas Southwest Council also honored 3 Silver Beaver Recipients for their service to our youth.
