TEXAS SOUTHWEST COUNCIL RECIEVES GRANT FOR CAMP FAWCETT

First-Aid-Lodge-Camp-Fawcett.JPGWTU Retail Energy a Direct Energy Company awards Texas Southwest Council, Boy Scouts of America  an energy grant of $5,000 for the WTU First Aid Building at Camp Fawcett, 505 Ranch Road in Barksdale.  WTU has awarded TSWC $14,000 over the last four years for improvements to the First Aid Building.  Energy Efficient Improvements include:  new windows, HVAC system, insulation, roof, new lights and wiring.  The WTU First Aid Building also has been repainted to its original White.

The San Angelo Area Foundation also awarded the TSWC, BSA a grant of $150,000 to construct a new modern restroom/shower house that was finished in late 2014.

TEXAS SOUTHWEST COUNCIL RECIEVES GRANT FOR NEW WATER SYSTEM AT CAMP SOL MAYER

The Oil Patch Kids Board, Midland Texas award Texas Southwest Council, Boy Scouts of America a grant of $3,000 for their new 2.2 mile water line at Camp Sol Mayer running across the Mayer Ranch located outside of Ft. McKavitt.  This gift is also combined with a $10,000 grant from the James B. & Lois R. Archer Charitable Foundation that the council is securing for this project.  Rick Reeve, Scout executive/CEO for the Texas Southwest Council commentated that Bleyl & Associates has completed engineering designs for this project.  Total cost of the project is estimated at $337,000 which includes:  4 exploratory water wells, 1 permanent well, 4 inch HPDE waterline, waterline bedding, 2 highway boring trenches, 10,000 gallon fiberglass ground storage tank, 25 gpm booster pump station and replacement fill line on our existing ground storage tank.
